Scots pine crop rotation with application of different kinds of green fallow in the forest nursery
The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of the 3- and 4-year crop rotation as well as application of the green fallow with different herbaceous species on the growth and number of Scots pine seedlings cultivated under the open space and greenhouse conditions. Eight species of herbaceous plants were used in the experiments: lupin (Lupinus luteus L.), charlock (Sinapsis alba L.), serradella (Ornithopus sativus Brot.), field pea (Pisum arvense L.), buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Minch.), turnip (Brassica campestris ), tansy phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia Benth.) and common vetch (Vicia sativa L.). Compare to the control, the considerable changes of different biometric features of seedlings were recorded in effect of crop rotation length, herbaceous plant applied and cultivation conditions.
