Abstrakt

The aim of the study was to examine how many trees per progeny have to be measured in order to assure enough precision of testing in particular environmental conditions where the experiments were located. The measurements and observations were made in two experimental plots with 10 years old half sib of Scots pine progeny. DBH was measured and stem straightness, branch diameter and branch angle were accessed for all trees. The results indicated that the measuring 35 trees per progeny for trials established in single tree plot design, gives nearly the same precision as measurements of all the plots.
