Welcome to the Forest Research Institute!
The Forest Research Institute was established in 1930 as an Experimental Station of the State Forests Organisation, and in 1934 it has been transformed into the Forest Research Institute of the State Forests. Since 1945 it has been acting as the Forest Research Institute, currently being subordinated to the Minister of Environment.
The Director and the Scientific Council are the head bodies of the Institute. The Scientific Council is a decisive, initiating and advisory body of the Institute and is empowered to award PhD degrees and habilitation (qualifying for associate professor position). It is also authorized to submit candidates for the title of professor of forest sciences.
