The impact of bilberry Vaccinium myrtillus L. picking techniques on the above ground parts of plants and yield level
The aim of this work was to examine, if bilberry fruit picking technique may cause changes in above ground parts of plants and yield level. Following variants of picking techniques were tested: once a year with hands, once a year with a special tool named „comb”, twice a year with hands, twice a year with „comb” and control variant – no picking at on.
After picking with „comb” (variants once and twice per year) the number of plants decreased when compare to control plot. In all variants number, mass and area of leaves decreased. In the variant of picking twice a year with a „comb” the reproduction value (fruiting efficiency) was higher than in the control plot.
