Abstrakt

The article describes methodological aspects of the use of Landsat Thematic Mapper satellite images to estimate the range and intensity of nun moth outbreak in Schorfheide forests (Brandenburg). The high values of correlation coefficient was derived for relation of defoliation with biomass, damages and NDVI indices (0.693, 0.704 and – 0.691 respectively). There were four classes of defoliation in surveyed stands distinguished by using the multi-channels analyses: up to 30%, 30–50%, 50–70% and over 70%.
