Abstrakt

This report gives a brief overview of the present situation of private firms
performing services for State Forests. It describes and analyses economic effectiveness
of their commercial activities, as well as it focuses on economic factors influencing
this effectiveness. In general terms, private forest entrepreneurship in Poland is a kind
of small-scale business; it has law employment level, small investment potential
and it is very sensitive to market economic circumstance. The profits obtained doesn’t
guarantee either employment stability or measures for development and extension
within the range of performed services. No specific factors determinig the effects
of enterprises activities were found. However a certain influence of annual income
from sails and services on economic indicators characterizing private forest firms
can be observed. The development of private forest enterprise in Poland depends
on the acces to investment credit, their better management and support from
the main contractor, i.e. State Forests.
