Flow of ions through ecosystems of spruce and pine forests under different conditions of environmental contamination
Two year research results of chemical contents of water circulating within pine and spruce forest ecosystems are presented. Different phases of water cycle — open field precipitation, throughfall and tree stem flow and also soil water under roots, ground water and output from basin, were included. The main reason of destabilization of cycle of ions in ecosystem might be many times higher comparing to the background SO4 inputs, which effect is decreasing water acidity in precipitation in the Sudety Mts. to pH<4.7; and in the soil to pH 3.81–4.255.
Above phenomenon is accompanied with washing out under stand canopy big amount of H, K, Mn, SO4 and Na ions and also beyond ecosystem SO4, Al and NO3 ions. In the condition of low contamination the main water components being mobiled in the ecosystem are Ca and Mg ions. neutralising influence of „acid rains”.
